Spruce Moose Lodge Bed & Breakfast
owned and run by Leon & Nellie is now CLOSED.
We Retired!!
-
After twenty years of running the Spruce Moose Lodge, Nellie and Leon have
decided to take some time for themselves.
We absolutely love the Bed and Breakfast Life, most especially the wonderful
guests!
After much deliberation, we have decided to retire and take the time to embrace
a more relaxed, life style.
This decision was a very difficult one because it involves not just selling the
Inn, but our Home!
We are on the quest of finding our new home, as well as finally having the time
to actually travel and go on vacation ourselves!!!
Fun thing is now we will have the time to be guests at other's bed and
breakfasts!
We closed about two months ago, and do miss the companionship of our beloved
guests.
We are pleased to share that the new owners of Spruce Moose have decided to run
the lodge as an Air B & B.
Good thing is this beautiful property will continue to be a special place
for New England travelers.
Nellie and Leon have entertained people from all over the world, not just the
United States.
There were many interesting mornings when were the only ones speaking English!
We enjoyed learning phrases in German, French and many others so we could
converse with our visitors from abroad,
and were certainly enlightened by the bilingual, and even more by the
multilingual European guests.
Now is our turn to
visit and experience the boundless adventures that await us.
It is necessary to include the most important characters in our plan, our
Beloved Dogs.
We still have Jed (13 years) and Avery (9 years).
We will forever love and keep the Lodge Ambassadors; Whitman, Lucy and Lilly in
our hearts.
Lucy was our first little dog. She joined Whitman when we moved from Merrimack,
New Hampshire.
At that time Lucy was already fourteen. She crossed over the Rainbow Bridge the
first year at the Inn. We adopted Lilly shortly thereafter.
After settling into our role as Innkeepers, we took care of a dog named Jedi for
a nice young family from France.
When his family were done traveling, they came back to take him home.
We were both surprised that we experienced a serious void. So we decided to get
a 3rd dog, Jed, to complete our family.
Now the Bed and Breakfast felt complete. This was during the dog friendly years
at the Spruce Moose Lodge.
Those years were quite memorable for many reasons! Lots of antics for sure :)
We want to sincerely thank all our guests for their company and choosing to stay
with us.
So many of you became friends over the years, and we will miss all the fun times
you all shared with us.
We certainly have hundreds of crazy stories to tell. Who knows, maybe we'll
write a B&B book about life as an Innkeeper.
We also want to thank
Bizz Z Turtle for her decades of service, care, creative graphics and ideas
that made our website stand out from all the cookie cutter websites! We
love you!
So, in closing, we have enjoyed this experience and are looking forward to being
able to sleep late! Hahaha!
Love to all,
Nellie and Leon Filip
